I will admit I have been hiding under ar rock in regards to ps3 games. I really have no clue, what is really worth buying atm.

But, I have dusted off the dust, and loaded the thing up, and now I am scratching my head, wondering what an earth I should play. Last game that everyone was talking about was fall of man.

I must be in the dark ages, because there is many new games on the shelves:eek:
 
This is going to be a ticking bomb I'm afraid.

A few of my own suggestions would be Warhawk and the now-defunct GT:HD (GT Prologue demo comes on the 24th for those with JP accounts).
 
I would say the best of the bunch (recent retail releases) would be Heavenly Sword, Warhawk, CM: Dirt, Ninja Gaiden: Sigma.

I also recommend Oblivion. The developers are apparently close to finding a solution to get the additional released content available over the PSN.
 
Have a play with some of the demos on the PSN, make yourself a US account, if you dont have one, and have a go at the Ratchet and Clank demo (game not out till end of month though) and anymore that takes your fancy. Warhawk is always good fun if you like online multiplayer games, Heavenly Sword is a great game but its only 6-8 hours (8 at the very max) long but does have a bit of replay value. Ninja Gaiden Sigma is good, but if you played the original version it may not be worth it, though there is a demo.
 
There's some really top ones coming out very shortly, PES, Haze (from the makers of Goldeneye 64), Ratchet and Clank, GT5:Prologue.

My favourite is Tekken 5 atm, I've not played Heavenly Sword but heard it's also very good.
 
The Darkness seems to be a good game, played the demo on 360 and gonna get the full game when I can afford it, guessing the PS3 version is just as good.
 
As msmalls says mate, try some demos first, I would highly highly recommend the following:

RB6Vegas (Online is fantastic)
The Darkness (If you have a 360 its smoother\less jaggy on that but perfectly playable on PS3 too)
Oblivion
Heavenly Sword
Ninja Gaiden Sigma

The above are imo AAA titles, these are also worthy of a mention

Sega Rally
Motorstorm
Tekken (PSN)
GT:HD (PSN)
Super Stardust (PSN)
Resistance
GRAW2
DiRT

Yes, if you like racers, DiRT and Sega Rally are great, and in both instances, the full games are better than the demos.... nevertheless, they both have demos, for free, available for download from your favourite PSN store, so get downloading ;)

I also loved the Darkness, and after I started playing it, played nothing else until it was completed.

In fact, there are so many various demos available on the UK and US PSN Stores now, that should keep your busy for a fair while!

Oh, and if you like that kind of thing, Folklore is apparently excellent.
Not my thing though.

Everybody keeps going on about Heavenly Sword... I played the demo and didn't think much of it. Thought it looked lovely, but struck me as, just not my cup of tea I guess. Maybe I'll try it when some people on here decide to put it on the MM ;) Anyway, that's also available on the PSN for a free download, so no excuses ;)

Speaking of the Members Market, to the OP, I've seen quite a few good games going for fair prices in the MM! Always worth a look :)

how do you get access to the MM? I've heard its 3 months 250posts. I should be qualified but i cant see it anywhere :s

How do you know Haze is really good? 1UP said it wasn't that good and graphics were PS2 standard.

Only things worth getting are
Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Resistance and maybe Heavenly Sword depending on how desperate you are.
 
played demo of Tiger Wood gold which was quite good. The commentary was well done (considering that its nearly always rubbish in any sports game) Virtua Tennis 3 is good. GRAW 2 and Rainbow 6 vegas are supposed to be good if you like FPS. I liked R6vegas on pc i admit - but no way in hell i'll attempt it on console.

Only thing that i dont like is all the FPS games coming out for the ps3. We dont all love fps games you know. I like rpgs.....could be i made the wrong choice with the console lol.:rolleyes: Gonna try ordering oblivion GOTY from the US.

Is it easy enough just to grab a fake US address for an account? Isnt that breaking Sony's terms and conditions? or smt?

Its quite easy i just used a Cyber cafe address in LA, well it could break the Sony T+C's, but nobody has ever had any trouble with it (yet). There seems to be a fair few FPS on the PS3 at the moment, and coming, RPGs i would have thought take longer to create.

Blimey, from the trailers I've seen I thought it looked pretty damned good, I'm really looking forward to it.

If I'd known my PS2 could do graphics like that, I'd not have sold it! ;)
