Little help...

Anyone remember a game from a couple of years ago - it was a cross between Company of Heroes and Cannon Fodder. Top down view, you had a group of troops, but you could actually take control of one and click to shoot...WW2 setting.

Ideas??

Commandos: Beyond the Call of Duty (The expansion pack to the first)?

Commandos 2 was definitely my favourite of the lot. I still remember the voices - "Suuure thiiing!"

OT, how's commandos compared to company of heroes??
I'm LOVING CoH right now so if it's similar it might be worth picking up....

I would actually say that early commandos games are more of a puzzle genre than RTS.

Just had a butchers at a you tube vid of Soldiers. Looks very good :)
I'm going to recommend Comany of Heroes to you. By the looks of it CoH was inspired by soldiers or has at lest taken a lot from it, but CoH is amazing to look at, much more sophisticated and on a much larger scale (from what i've seen).

Just a suggestion if you're into that kind of game :)

There is another game similar to SHOWWII but it is supposed to be silly hard.
Me and a mate played SHOWWII in coop, proper good game. I dug it out not so long ago actually and we replayed some of the old missions.

Ah yeah liked the demo of that game but the problem it had was that Company of Heroes came out shortly after it and dwarfed everything.

Commandos is completely different to Company of Heroes anyway...

For a a start, Commandos is more focused on individual players (seeing as theres only four in the earlier games...) and its just more, tactical I guess...a lot more sneaking around.

The two games are on either end of the scale to one another to be honest.
