I’m pretty sure it was a film…

There is a locked bedroom, possibly red, that children can’t get into. But they get into it maybe through a fireplace? I might be misremembering.

I thought it was the Woman in Black 2 film but apparently not!

Any ideas? It’s not the Haunting of Hill House TV series.

Maybe it’s The Nun or the sequel…?
 
I don't think it's the nun films... I think there were locked rooms, but the red element I do not remember.

Thanks both. Not either of those. I’ve a feeling it was a period drama-y thing. Or kids…

I’m confused, maybe it was a dream… or a mish mash of memories… but definitely a room (bedroom?) that people couldn’t get into. Maybe there were bugs there too?

And the kids crawling around to avoid something. I’m sure one of them got munched by a ghost going in or out of the room.

Maybe the room wasn’t red…

I’m not being very helpful am I :D

The things that are definitely strong in the memory are: bunch of children, possibly all girls, all trying to escape from something together, and having to crawl into / out of a room. And one of them that’s last / first out of the room is ‘got’.

This is a bit of a wild guess as it's not really a horror, but you don't mean Sucker Punch do you?

The weird themes and group of girls trying to escape makes me think of it.

Came back hoping we got the result. But no, well guess I'll add more horror films to my October month of horror. Some of these above I have not seen in a good while

I saw a monstrosity called Unseen Evil 2/Alien 3000 20 odd years ago and to this day maintain that it's the worst film ever made.

I've experienced a lot of absolute cack over the years myself, but this set the bar so low back in the day nothing else has even come close. It's filled to the brim with iconic events such as a fully clothed sex scene which was two people dry humping while screaming loudly enough to put hardcore porn to shame. Then there's the fact a bunch of the vehicles were close ups of RC toys hurtling along at speed. I'm not kidding either, they weren't even good models, it was like they raided their kids toy boxes for some of them. How it even gained enough funding to be considered a legitimate production will forever be beyond my ken.

Unfortunately I was partaking of the devils lettuce at the time of my first viewing, suffice it to say that I laughed so hard I almost passed out on my couch.

10/10 experience. 0/10 movie.
 
A wild update!! I found it.

It was The Nun 2 :)

… and to my delight, very similar to how I remembered it!

I think that speaks more to the quality of the film than me, almost everything I said was correct :p

Well…. it wasn’t a bedroom… or a fireplace… and there was one ‘adult’ with the girls :o but otherwise spot on :D
