Could well be a nice cpu you got there.

A very early E6400 ES.

Where you get it from?

From that auction site. Took a chance on £35 with very little detail, no picture and the owner couldn't be contacted.

Am really chuffed that this punt payed off. Now all I need is a mobo, already have 2G OCZ platinum DDR800, a BFG 7950GT 512 and a couple of Raptors. Currently running a MSI K9 Neo (AM2) and a AMD 3800 single core. Do you think I will see much more performance and what board do you recommend?

I just hope that it is viable, doesn't look like it has ever been installed.

Well if it is an E6400 ES, you have a excellent bargin for £35 :D Took a chance and it paid off alright

Let us know how it clocks and what temps :)
I would do except I just spent the last of my wages on Fish for my daughter -doh!

Will have to wait until end of this month or next before I can buy a motherboard. There is still a chance I bought a dud though

Just popped the plastic cap off and had a good look and I am almost certain it has never been used. Yah for me!! now do I keep or do I sell hmmmm.
