Hey all,

On the eve of my purchase of another internal drive I've come to a dead end.

I'm undecided on a name. At first, I was simply going to call the drive "Windows HD" but was wondering what the peeps of OcUK would do?

Reason I'm (sort of) stuck in purgatory is that I was going to use the drive for OS X and didn't fancy calling it Macintosh HD2, and don't like the "OS X, Storage" way of thinking.

I've seen some creative names in the past (calling each drive by a name, e.g. Homer, Bart etc) and was wondering;

What do you call yours?

Mac Pro One, Storage and Untitled here.

The Untitled one sickens me but I don't think I can change it now that Windows is on it.

If you right click on it in Windows you can change it in the properties, mate.

I use to have
GLaDOS for my primary HDD (I named my MacBook after playing too much Portal)
Time Machine for BackUps
Yarr for my shiver me timbers stuff I get off the internets :p

Macintosh HD, BootCamp and Time Machine here.

Oh and Momentus for the lappy drive I've got in a Firewire caddy.

Ingenious, huh?

Does what it says on the Tin.

If you want something completely different, just open a random page of the Dictionary and stick your ring finger randomly on the page - then use that word as your HDD name :)

Edit: I just randomly did that with my Medical Dictionary and I pointed "Night Terror", what a name for a HDD:cool:

I have WD750, SM250 and SE80.

Think I'll keep that trend going in the future, it's far easier to tell my drives apart.

I used to do that for naming Machines :)

Shhh...
I'll return to a Mac when I graduate, my aim is either a fully spec iMac in Summer 2009 or a MacBook Pro - depending on my needs then, so 1 more year-ish for Apple to create "My Dream Machine" :p

Someone escort Mr. Jones out, we wave our fingers at you!!!!!

Come back in 2009 then.

:p

Oh: How about local town names, like Manchester; London; Swansea etc?

What about calling them like "one hundred and twenty" depending on how big they are? or "one twenty" for a shorter name...

ORRRR you could name them like "spare room" "attic space"...

I dunno thats all i can think of :p
