Naming your son after a game...

I think giving your child an unusual middle name is fine. Then they can hide it behind an initial for the rest of their life, or ignore it completely if they want. But do at least give them a "boring" first name option.

There's a cracking Allan Bennett piece where he talks about how old folks' homes will eventually be full of people called Kylie and Wayne. "Come on Skyrim, time for your commode!"

The best bit about this is that it'll be abbreviated to Sky. He'd better be good at fighting.

I have a uncommon name for an English person, my name is Thor. It's a great conversation starter and what not. Couldn't imagine having a normal name, although it does make you face palm when you're on your phone as people seem to think my name is Paul so can imagine if the kid was English would get a lot of people saying Dave.

Even normal names can seem funny. I used to work with lady and her name was Gail - normal enough until you found out her sister was Storm !

Straight up!

He'll be fine, I'm sure he'll grow up to be a perfectly well rounded adult, then it's deed poll to the rescue to enable him to actually get a job.

Better than my wives Chav "Facebook friends" who liked both Beyonce and Shakira. They couldnt decide so they called the girl Shabonce (Sha-bonce-ay). WTH is wrong with people.

HAHAHAHA. Oh my god.

Although maybe a bit extreme, I think the name is okay. Just sounds foreign to people that don't play videogames so.
