Hi all.
At the grand old age of 28 I went to Nandos today for the first time.
What an overhyped restaurant. The food was nice, but not worth the money.

Any better big chain chicken places to eat that?

You practically lost me at 'big chain'. But if it has to be a chain, maybe go into a wagamama and order something with chicken.

Nando's, students and young tweens eating overpriced chicken.

Normally I roll my eyes at people that complain about big chains etc, but really, its just chicken and chips....

I can understand, the food isn't bad but it is certainly mediocre at best and does not constitute the price they charge. I've had better Piri Piri elsewhere (Even at other "big chains")

That said, it does serve a purpose like da_mic says it is for students/tweens who want a restaurant that will satisfy fussy eaters :)
If I was choosing an eatery for me personally then I'd start looking away from the "big chains" (They're fine) as you can often find superior quality at local/individual/small chain restaurants whose USP is around quality and not just chicken :D

I completely agree. If I want poorly cooked, crap chicken I'll make it at home myself!

KFC any day for me if I want to pay for chicken.

Prefer Nandos over KFC (if i was to pick), the latter just gives me bad cramps, says it all really. If I really want fast chicken and I'm on my own, I tend to buy a whole cooked chicken from one of the big supermarkets, you get more/better quality, for less

It is hardly overpriced. It isn't exact proper restaurant prices.

Your local chicken shop that attempts to do the same at a slightly lower price are rarely anywhere near as good.

never have never will.
full of chav's.

Chav's what?

Hype? What hype?

There's quite a bit. I've known a lot of people who have put Nando's on some sort of pedastal of greatness.

It's most definitely overpriced for a tiny portion of dry bland chicken

The nandos near me is actually pretty good. I've never had dry chicken there. Still pricy for what it is mind.

My wife, being Portuguese, wanted to try it. Said the meal was OK but certainly not Portuguese. And it's not, obviously. Any one that believes it is must think that peri-peri is put on absolutely everything. When we go to Portugal, I never see it. ...

And playing Spanish music while claiming to be Portuguese is asking for trouble!
