I've been looking into building a NAS system for general home use. At the moment i have my living room HTPC that has all my music, movies and tv shows on and that is connected to mine & the wife's Laptop and our other HTPC in our bedroom via homegroup. At the moment i have to leave my living room HTPC on when i want to connect to my files. I'd like to have a nas with freenas installed that would be always on with the hard drives from my living room HTPC and have all my systems connect to it.
What i'm not sure about is what spec system a nas should be.
Would this be ok for my needs,
