I have decided to build my own NAS as I already have a donor PC waiting to deliver its services. I am wondering if you guys may be able to suggest a case which is quite cool, and holds as many hard drives as possible. I am hoping to start with a 10TB RAID 6 Array, so at least 10 slots would be good, however I am hoping there will be room for some more later.

Also if you can think of any external hard drive racks, I would be very interested to hear about them.

Thanks

have you considered a caddy system that can fit 5 hard drives into 3 5.25" bays.

ie something like this.
I use a different version of one of those and it works a treat, also has a fan (bit noisy but not too worried) which helps cool the drives.

Then combine it with a case of your choice really (I'm using a lian li g50 but I don't need too much storage), something like a lian li a17 could be a good choice, potential for 15 drives if no optical used.

If you want lots of disks then a PC343B is the only way to go. Up to 30 (or 29 + an optical) with Lian Li accessories or 36 with a mix of the IcyDock above and the Lian Li rear mounts.

Mind you I wouldn't fancy cabling one up with that many drives, it's bad enough with the 11 in mine.
