I built my NAS into a rackmount server chassis which used to be mounted in a rack at my old house, in our new house its is too big and doesn't fit in its space well.
I'm looking for a tower style case to house the NAS now.
It has a full ATX board and a 9 drive RAID-Z2 array in it currently, so needs to house those plus any potential future upgrades.

2nd hand would probably be preferred.
I'm happy with a normal PC case so long as I can get the drives in and out easily enough.
I'm happy to repurpose an old server case if it will take an ATX PSU and Motherboard

if you want a PC case, or something like:

or:

if you want a rackmount server.

Probably can't go wrong with picking up a Fractal Define R5 (although might only have 8 3.5" slots?) or Define 7 which is larger. They have side facing quick release trays so easy to add and remove drives.

Yeah you're probably looking at a Define case unless you find an old case with lots of HDD capacity on FBM or something similar. Otherwise Jonsbo N5 takes ATX i think and has lots of HDD capacity

I use a Fractal Define XL to house 16 drives and an extended EATX board. Have a 2x5.25" to 5x3.5" cage at the top and a 5.25" tray holding the last drive and the 2x mirrored SSD for TrueNAS

The top drives do get quite hot though in the Summer

I'm actually selling a perfect condition Fractal XL with 12 drive sleds in MM now. It's collection only (North East) but only £120. Great for a home server in any case. :)
