Hi all,
I hope this question makes sense as I am fairly new to the world of Apple as well as networking in general.
I own a QNAP TS-210 Turbo NAS and it works great. I have it setup pretty well at the moment but have a burning question...
At the moment I connect to the NAS on my LAN via AFP. No problems there. However as soon as I visit a friend and take my MacBook Air the server is disconnected and to access my files I either FTP to the NAS using Transmit, or access it via the web (I have a domain and all the routing setup).
I was wondering if it is possible to connect to the NAS via AFP when at home, but then set my Mac up so that if I am not on my LAN it automatically searches and connects to the NAS over the internet. All without me having to interfere and make any changes?
Is that possible, and if so, can you please explain how to do this or point me to an article or resource that covers this?
Thanks,
Marco
