NAS high performance router

Hello there I'm hoping you can help me find a router I'm looking for a router
that allows me to connect my 2tb drive via usb and stream the content via SMB to my xbox media centre in the other room, I'm also looking for a Ethernet bridge my xbox only has a Ethernet port, ideally both should be from the same manufacturer and be compatible with the n draft.

Finally I want to be able to install custom firmware on the router, the last request is optional.

I had a similar set up before this but the performance was too low and I couldn't stream video at an expectable rate

hi there,

it is highly unlikely that anyone has a similar setup to yourself, so even if a router was suggested, it may not be to the standard you seem to Expect.

Can you tell us more about your current setup?

also, if you have custom firmware on the router, this could be what is causing the slow speeds, Many router firmwares produce the best connection speeds, high security levels etc as standard, and are optomised to that specific router. Changing these firmwares to your own, could potentially be the cause of your problem
