Occasionally I'm getting I/O errors with qbtorrent that saves onto my NAS
wireless from laptop. Wired from switch to NAS.

It's not all the time, I can go days or weeks without an issue, it'll happen a couple of times and be ok again.

I've done HD scans in the Synology NAS, and it's happened on both HD's so I doubt both HD are faulty with bad sectors. Latest firmware on NAS, and I've had issues over multiple DSM versions.

Windows 11 on the laptop

Any ideas?

Can you not connect the laptop to the Nas wired?

Not really, location I use laptop doesn't have a cable. Only place would be upstairs on the desk, but downstairs on sofa ..use wifi Also it's fairly random, so not like everytime when I can figure if wifi is dropping down in speed, not enough bandwidth etc etc.

Can't remember if desktops (wired) have same issue. But apparently that torrent app has people saying the same thing.

Run a torrent client on your NAS and see if you experience the same issue. You have a few options:

https://synocommunity.com/package/transmission - you need to pick the correct architecture. Let me know your Synology's model if you need help with this.

You can use this method if your Synology is x86 and supports Docker:

yeah I have a torrent app on my server, but it's just quicker using the machine in question.
