I wasn't sure where to post this question but here goes.

I have just bought a Lacie network space NAS to store my movies on and play through my Xbox 360. I have chucked a few videos on the hard drive and can connect to it from my 360.

Unfortunately I am having some trouble. Firstly not all the movies I put on the hard drive show up in the list on my 360. Also some of them show up but I am unable to play them (selecting them just does nothing!).

Does anyone know what going on? The weird thing is that the ones that don't play used to play off a USB stick or streaming straight from my iMac.

Founder, cannot answer your question, but how do you get your 360 to access the NAS? I'm just either streaming or plugging my external drive straight into it, but want a NAS.

Thats ok, I have worked out my problem. For some reason the NAS won't show .mp4 files, therefore you have to rename them to .m4v and they seem to work, strange.

Anyway all you have to do is buy a NAS with UPnP media server capability and the xbox will see it when you browse videos, photos or music.

Excellent - cheers Founder. Thanks for the info too, I'm sure that will come in handy when I'm struggling with file types.
