Ok so i have a spare 750gb hdd that im RMA'ing.

what would I need so it can be on the home network, store media and stream to the ps3 with as much ease as possible? Also as cheap as can be :) Im a student dammit.

but go ahead and spec alsorts. I'm interested :)

If you want a decent standalone NAS or to build a server it'll cost a bit, and probably not ideal as a student.

Either connect an external HDD to your PS3, or run PS3 media server (better than twonky or tversity imo) from your PC when you want it.

I just share the folder and the ps3 picks it up automatically. No program needs to be run at all and no hassle at all.

we do the tversity thing atm and i was just thinking instead of having to have the pc on just whack the hdd downstairs.

i never did get round to trying ps3 media server, downloaded it too. I'll give it a shout when im back at uni after easter :)

looks like ill just bung this hdd in my pc then :D
