Hi guys,

I have 2 HP NAS boxes both storing our most critical data and I'm looking to implement a bit of resliance & hopefully DR. Data is around 500GB on each server, and I have 2 spare licenses for HP StorageWorks mirroring software. I'm thinking about a dedicated link between the two. Possibly 2 NIC's in each server to create a team? would this be overkill? any other ideas I might want to look at?

Basically, I have around 6k to put to good use before the end of this month otherwise it'll be realocated. I have 10k released in late August to fully replace our tape backup system so I'm not worried about.

You want to mirror between those two? Or need two new ones to mirror them too? We use HP servers but not their storage, but I have done it with Netapps a few times and we going to do with some Sun Storage very soon.

Does HP mirror as data is written? Or is done as part of a scheduled job? ie. out of hours/over night so as not to impact a production system? There are some arguments for causing contention at the network layer so as not to hammer the disk during production hours.
