Hi guys,

Where i work we seem to be having a regular problem where some people are able to access the files/folders on our NAS but some can't.

I am able to ping and RDP into it, but i am unable to map a network drive or connect to it using \\(computername)

All i get is "The network path ..... could not be found"

The majority of people can access it just fine, but there are a few of us that cannot.

Thanks for any help guys.

Make / model of NAS?
What OS are the clients running? Any similarity between the clients with the problem?
What is your network setup?
Anything in the Event logs on your PC and/or NAS to give you any clues?

All machines are running XP x64 minus one which is running Vista.

It's a HP ProLiant DL100 G2 Storage Server running Windows Storage Server 2003.

I've checked through the event logs on the PCs and on the NAS and nothing =/

Run command prompt and do a "net use" if it is listed there try and disconnect it

easiest way is "net use /delete *"

That will however disconnect all network drives and any unc paths accessed via storing a user/pass
