Hi.
Im thinking of ordering the below NAS & switch before the end of the day for our network, but im unsure, what do you lot think?

NAS:
http://www.lacie.com/uk/products/product.htm?pid=10836
From what ive read, it has PS/2, DSUB, Network & USB connections on the back. Its aparentely just a Via Epia, and as such the existing OS can be replaced if nessessary with something else.

Its usage will be a place to backup our server onto, as a second level of backup.
And as a way to give more room to the servers for home/profiles.
Does anyone know if it, or another NAS of similar size and spec, can integrate with AD?
What i'd like to do is be able to setup a few shares on the NAS itself, and have them mapped to the server, which will then 'share' them to the users based on the security settings. Possible/feasible?

Switch.
Im unsure about choosing between the HP ProCurve 2626 and the 1800-24G.
Both are 24 port switches.
Both have 2xmini-GBIC's.
The 2626 has a far better diagnostic/stats interface.
The 1800 has gigabit on all 24 ports.
Both are about the same price.

Im basically gonna be needing 3 switches.
One to act as another 'secondary main switch' on a medium/high usage network.
One to act as as a secondary switch on a low usage network.
One to act as a primary switch on a low usage network.

Thanks in advance all. :).

Not had much play with an Lacie kit before but we do have a Buffalo Terrastation as our backup. With a hack it can auth against AD too.

As for the switches... do you really need gbit? What sort of environment will it be used in? The Procurves are rock solid pieces of kit and we cant fault them.

Ended up going for the LaCie. :)
Seemed good enough for what we need now, and with the 'hackable' OS, i can make it do whatever really. :p

Gigabit on each port? Yes and no.
From a future proof standpoint, yes, but at the moment, 90% of our stuff is megabit.
On a different note, the GUI on the 2626s is FAR better than the 1800-24Gs.
On the 2626s i can view all the port statistics on one screen, where as on the 1800-24Gs theres different screens for each port. A little annoying really. :(.
So im not entirely sure on the switches, ive set Monday as my deadline to decide though. :p.
