Anyway confusing title but here goes

When a game usually says your NAT is strict it means it! And its usually bloody hard to find a game at all but for some reason even though my NAT is strict it works perfectly fine, connects quickly and reconnect to hosts fine

So anyway even though there not a problem I try to get stop it from saying strict and temporarily disable my AV firewall and it makes no difference so can't be that, I then find the router ports MW2 and steam need and open them up in my router and no difference so WTF is going on? All my other games work perfectly fine and I can still connect, anybody else got similar, maybe think its a bug in MW2?

Mine says 'open' and I haven't forwarded any ports or disabled anything.

It used to always say strict when I played Halo on the Xbox which is on the same connection, didn't seem to affect anything though....

It's all lies  From people's posts on here that don't have the game it won't work P2P at all and you will get lag. P2P games will crash out when the host leaves and you won't find any games that work anyway so people shouldn't buy it. Oh, hang on a second, it works fine for me too ;)

McCray, do you have upnp turned on at the router by any chance? Maybe that's why yours says open and you haven't forwarded any ports? As for the Op I have no idea.

Not sure I'll check, is this a bad thing...?

Seems a lot of modern routers have it turned on by default. Basically means port forwarding is done automatically so a program can contact the router and have a port forwarded automatically without you having to do anything.

Good for games, bad if you get a virus :D I have it turned on as I have a software firewall anyway and I live in a shared house so people who have an xbox in their room need it turned on or they get NAT errors. Damn console users ;)
