I'm calling absolute BS on all of these squat numbers.

To summarise: you aren't doing squats.

This. I should say that I've squatted 100kg+ before but now working through stronglifts it's not as easy with they done properly.

Maybe it's because I didn't skate as a youth.

^^ Thanks for the complements, they are always welcome.

My squat rep max is 165, calf size is very much down to genetics. Also i am short only 5' 7.5" with a short leg to long torso ratio that only helps make them look better, when you see LiE's log you will see some skinny ass calf's squatting 215kg :D

That's pretty good almost the same then. Just been checking out everyone's logs but honestly I thought you lot would be bigger. No offense it just seems some people have been working out over three years and should be looking bigger.

I want to see this 140kg squat

It will come.

No BS, why would I BS? And we don't have smartphones, waste of money.

Sigh...another troll in SA.

Depends what your understanding is of size, and your gauge of scale through a picture. Most of the logs are from guys who focus on strength training, which is different to training for size. However what your missing is the numbers that are being shifted with form that is very close to perfect.
Also weight shifted by comparison to body weight is another key thing to look at.

Your telling me you don't even have a 10 year old Nokia? Or even a £30 digital camera? Hell you could pick up a free Samsung galaxy s2 for£20 a month on a contract...

So your still saying you squatted 140x10? Even with shocking form that is a heavy weight to move even to a foot above parallel, yet you say you struggle moving significantly less with proper form? Something is seriously wrong with what your doing, yet your happy to try and have a dig at those who actually can lift, and decent weights at that.

Nothing to do with having a smart phone

I'm saying that not one of your squats will have been to proper depth.

I don't even care about proof, I've seen and heard enough squatters to know that you aren't strong enough to get even 1 rep of 140kg below parallel.

Yeah I just realized pictures makes you looker smaller tonight. Our form is pretty good though, we do take it into consideration and have practiced.

Managed to snag a phone off someone, it's just a cheap Nokia. I do have a phone it's a crappy samsung with no way to get the photos off. My friend has a camera that can take video so we can take that to gym to get a video. I'll post a video of me squatting soon, I never said I struggle lifting less weight. I'm saying I don't know what my 1RM is, I did 60kg squats today and didn't even feel it.

Vegan and power are words that cannot co-exist - as such, I'm out :p

There are vegan powerlifters, so stay, or stay and see me fail :D

I never said I can squat 140KG below parallel, like I said I don't know as I haven't tried. That's why I guessed it at 110KG ATG.

Pics coming. I don't mean to have a dig at anyone and I'm sorry if I did at Delvis, I should have read his OP, I missed it. Pics coming.

Yeah...

To briefly justify my statement, look at your ratios. You say you've done 140kg for however many reps above parallel and then state that you think your 1RM "ATG" is 110kg. That is a huge discrepancy, and it means your 140 reps were absolutely nowhere near parallel. This also means that you have no idea what parallel looks like when you're squatting.

Therefore, you haven't been squatting consistently do any kind of respectable depth. Therefore, you haven't been squatting.

I said they was nowhere near parallel, you're completely right and I'm agreeing with you. I know what parallel is.

Now I understand what you mean by not squatting and you're right I'm going to change. This is the reason for the huge discrepancy - because I agree with you, my squatting was ****. I still think I can do 110 ATG.

In all seriousness, you probably can't and you shouldn't try.

If you are now going deep enough, the chances of your technique being safe and strong are extremely low.

With everything I've read about you and your mate, you are both ruining your chances of making any progress.

Learn how to lift.

Pictures up. You'll see from my friends pictures he knows how to lift. He does look smaller in the photos mind. And I'm not going to try, I'll try something like 90KG first after I post a form video. We've never had an injury at gym yet and our progress has been nothing but non stop. I need to find a picture of before I started lifting, I know I look skinny but it's only been 7 months and I was so much skinnier before, and weaker. I used to be only able to squat 60kg 10 reps.

I hope I'm not just coming across as obnoxious, but your friend does not look like he lifts. He look like he's done some internally rotated pressing and some curls. You are both skinny, and there is no way your frames can supports any of the squat numbers flying around earlier.

Set aside egos, acquire gains.

Show me a photo of you and how long have you been training? I wouldn't say he was skinny, yes me but he's bigger than most logs on here I saw.

You never mentioned his back, his back is pretty impressive, look at them muscles in the middle. Also his quads, so you're telling it doesn't look like he's been squatting? I love how you had nothing good to say. :o

Where is the ego? Just because you don't believe I can squat what I say.

Obsession with seeing pics of everyone else and calling them out.
"experienced" lifting mate turns out to be just as average as a number of people on this forum.
Refusal to accept advice.

5* thread, will continue reading and laughing.

inb4 called out for not being huge. inb4 OP only ever looks at pics in peoples 1st posts to judge from.

Number of people ITT who wanted to see pics of you: zero.
Number of people who wanted to see proof of your bull **** squat figures: everyone.

No he isn't.
No i don't.
Smaller, perhaps. A hell of a lot leaner, guaranteed.
So what exactly are you here for?

I'm not one to judge normally as everyone starts somewhere but damn you call people out for not being as big as they "should" be after x amount of time but you've been lifting 7 months and barely look like you've seen a weight in your life.

Carry on though, you'll do well here.

e: No it isn't, but here's some more light as hell weights. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zv9g9G73c7M

So how long have you been lifting? That deadlift isn't that heavy, plus it's one rep. I can't lift it but I will in a couple years.

Judging by your 2nd pic, you might want to look up 'anterior pelvic tilt' and get it sorted (see mobility thread for tips).

Secondly, you say the deadlift isn't that heavy, BUT it would take you a couple of years to even reach the same weight? You kind of contradict yourself there :D.

Lastly, that isn't Icecold ;)
