has anybody had or heard of any problems with bank accounts etc if you subscribe to the National Lottery online

Nope? What sort of problems? I guess banks might get funny re: lending if you make a lot of gambling-related transactions.

I had a direct debit with the National Lottery (Camelot) around the time I was applying for a mortgage and that wasn't a problem. I only sacked the lottery off a few years later because I wasn't winning :p

Nowdays, I play on the Videoslots web site every month and still no problems, with credit rating of 999 / 999 on Experian and 471 / 700 on Clearscore. Apparently 420+ / 700 is good and 466+ / 700 is excellent?!

Wouldn't have thought so. So many people play the lottery, that hardly anyone would be able to get loans/mortgage etc if that raised a big red flag.

I do think countless gambling transactions from online bookies etc might be bad, loan application wise.

It must mean something because my mortgage lender wanted to see my credit score when they were considering us, which on Experian was 999 for both me and my wife.

Also some friends of mine who do earn good money, had issues getting a first time mortgage due to some unpaid credit card that she had when she was 18/19 at Uni, that she claimed she knew nothing about - and that had affected her credit score quite badly.

Bare in mind she was 36/37 when this came to light.

Not that this has anything to do with the OP's question :D

Some benefits for playing lottery online:
1. Don’t lose tickets
2. Big prizes go into bank account
3. Not getting cash. Bought a ticket from my work and won £107 a couple of weeks ago and had the cash. Bloody annoying. Though used some to pay hairdresser. Bought a few bits at a supermarket and paid with cash.

He means the score means nothing.

You could have payments of 200 quid a week to a betting place and your score could be 999.
But the lender sees that and just red flags you.

Generally the score is a layman's way of guiding you.

If you really want to look. Look at the actual report.
