I am thinking about opening a Nationwide Regular Savings account to supplement my existing investments. I am a Nationwide customer and make use of their Internet Banking services.

Can any of you tell me if, once opened, the balance of the Regular Savings Account is viewable online with the rest of your Nationwide accounts or is the balance displayed only in the paying in book?

If no answer by lunch then I shall ask at a branch, but at work at the moment before someone suggests just asking them :p

Mmmm I considered natwest bt tbh go for allianceandlesister
offers 12% AER on reg savings when openning current account

only sucky thing is, you must pump £500 thru your A&L current account each month - I use for holding my rent before it gets XFered out, and the saving money before it hits the regular saver so isnt too hard and the other downside compared to Nationwide is it's a fixed-12-month-term deal.

And to answer your question, as above, id expect you can view it online, like I can view my A&L and Natwest ISA online.

all online and nice web interface too :).

Thanks lads :)

I do love using the Nationwide Internet Banking web site, it's very good! The Regular Saver looks like a nice little account as well. You're restricted to a £250 initial deposit, and you're also restricted to a £250 monthly transfer thereafter, but it's not a bad way to save a lttle rainy day money and it offers a nice level of interest as well.

I think I shall open one at the start of Feb!
