NATS ATCO Application info...

Hey everyone,

I seem to remember that there are a number of ATCOs lurking around here! I've a friend who has applied to NATS and I was wondering if any of you could shed light on the application process? Any information would be welcome!

It's changed recently but as far as I'm aware...

Stage 1 - Aptitude tests (Numerical Reasoning, Spatial Awareness etc.)
Stage 2 - FEAST test (Google it for info and prep packages)
Stage 3 - Group exercise and interview
Medical

Thanks for the reply, yes I've seen the thread on pprune and she's working her way through it! As you say old stuff is out but the latest pages have some info. She's just been emailed a link to some sort of online test, which she has no idea what it involves! We'll have to wade through the huge pprune thread haha.

I'd offer some advice but it would be utterly useless since the selection process has evolved a lot since I had anything to do with it.

One thing I will say is to be honest on the personality tests if they still do them. They weed out the liars every time. And if she can do the test with an "ATCO head" on it will help, i.e. think along the lines of safety, order and expedition in that order of priority. And never say "I don't know" in the interview. They're looking for people who can keep developing new plans when the situation changes.

That's probably nothing she didn't already know but if there's any specific questions about the job I might (should!) know a bit more

Totally agree with this. I have heard of people fail at the personality test.

As to the link to the online test I don't know. Certainly didn't exist when I went through the process.
