Natwest Cheque Clearing Time

i have a petrol cheque from work that i need to clear by friday. it will be paid in today whats the chances ti will be cleared in time?

they recon 7days. i swear its been quicker before

It should be available to spend after 4 working days if you have a full current account, so it'll be available on Friday. After 6 working days it's guaranteed to have cleared.

Depending on when they are paid in, I have known Cheques that I have paid in to be cleared in 2-3 Days.

Surely it depends on the cheque in question. If its from natwest, to natwest, it will be quicker than X bank to Natwest.

I doubt it makes much of a difference, the 2-4-6 rules now in force make it a lot more transparent

Last Natwest Cheque I paid in (last week) to my Natwest account, took till the next working day to clear.

its a barclays business cheque to natwest current account

should be fine for friday, I usually get my pay cheque on a monday and is always clear by friday if not thursday.

I get mine very quick, 2 days at the most. Paid in a 3 year old cheque last week!

That may not actually clear though, cheques are generally only valid for 6 months.

That may not actually clear though, cheques are generally only valid for 6 months.

It did. Much to my surprise. It was for £130 so not a small amount either.
