Naughty Neville hits back at FA

If he did an obscene gesture close to the fans, then fine him. Don't fine him for being 50 yards from the away fans celebrating in his home stadium when he didn't do anything obscene or offensive. And then try and blame him for the fights and trouble outside the pitch after the game.

But I'm sure the £5000 will refurbish an office or replace some carpet in the F.A. headquarters. But I doubt it would cover their expenses bills.

yet more sillyness by the FA. They are swayed by public feeling rather than logic.
No they're not. The general feeling for this, and a lot of the things they do, is that they are complete tools who seem to have no grasp of the game and the passion behind it whatsoever.

Like most I watched the game live & I'm sure when Neville made his gesture that he did a bit more than what has been shown & mentioned since. Did anyone else see him mouthing **** *** repeatedly to the 'Pool fans?

Well maybe you seen completely different footage of the match than the rest of us, otherwise what you say happened would have been used as evidence against him. But I haven't seen it or heard about it.

I obviously haven't seen different footage than the rest.
What I'm asking is if anyone saw him do what I mentioned, as I'm sure I did. What I think happenened is it was shown initially (live) then couldn't be repeated for obvious reasons, that's why the only clips you now see don't include it.
I'm so sure I saw him do it that I was amazed it wasn't mentioned again & maybe it was bought up in the charge, who knows?:)

If it was shown live initially the video would probably be circulating Liverpool fan forums and be on the net somewhere regardless of it being edited afterwards. Worse things happen in football that don't get punished at all. The F.A. have nothing better to do.

I agree, I don't condone what he did, but it doesn't bother me either.
I'm all for players showing passion for their team on the pitch & it makes me laugh when fans get upset at such gestures especially when they do far worse in return anyway.
The Lampard 'sshhh' incident for example. Watch the video & you'll see a 'Pool fan who had been 'shaking coffee beans' earlier go furious when Lamps did it, dish it, take it...

true, but the fans aren't paid mahoosive amounts of money to represent their clubs on the pitch. doesn't bother me what he did tbh but he's a bit stupid to go on about how much he hates Liverpool and scousers and then go and do that. of course it's gonna come back and bite him on the bum.

And it was the GM police that reported him and brought about the complaint. not Liverpool FC.

IMO the FA should focus on more important matters, such as:

> Poor referees
> Diving/Play acting
> Sort out the offside rule (none of this active/inactive crap)
> Goal line technology

I'm sure there's more, but then where's the money in that...

A bit of passion and friendly rivalry is what football is all about.

In my opinion the FA should shut the **** up and not DARE to mention anything about misconduct, image of the game and bringing it into disrepute untill they sort out the abysmal standard of refereeing in this country.

Craig Bellamy behaved very similar the other night baiting the mackems.
I reckon Neville was only made an example of because of who he is and whos employment he is in.

Not that im too bothered mind.
