I've started playing Navy Field again. Curious as to how many players use manual aiming? I find it a complete pig and very slow, so I use auto.

Just out of curiosity...

Downloaded it last night so still learning and using auto :)

I quite like it....been looking for a game similar since having the Warship Gunner on PS2 and this looks to be the one :)

this is from a lvl 110 player, using a L2, use manual, shots are more accurate, you can move the rear and front guns to a point, so all shells will land in the same spot almost...you can slightly adjust angles to get the perfect shot, once you get used to it, you will be fine.

Just started playing a couple days ago. Using auto but only because I can't find a manual FCS for my DD. Auto is nice and easy but it is much less accurate.

Using auto to start with is fine, because it's too hard to learn about the game, controlling the ship, and aiming at the same time.

However, by the time you get a light cruiser (CL) you should be using manual FCS. It's hard at first, but you'll eventually get it.

What nation have you guys chosen?

i play with a friend of mine and we both use manual. it really is a must once your past dd level. and its better to practice with manual before you get a cl. its really not that hard, you just have to learn the angle. and if your having problems with slow moving guns make sure when you press ctrl that the little green light comes on in the bottom right corner to enable tda.

Slow moving guns was my problem, took me ages to track targets whilst I dodge torpedos and fire from BB's :P

I haven't chosen a nation yet - how do I do that? :)

You shouldn't be in a game with BBs, only go in Blitzkrieg or FF/DD/CL games.

To chose a nation you need a level 12 bridge operator. See here: http://www.nf-guides.com/common.htm#l12

Also, are you playing the .eu Navyfield, or US?

When you reach lvl12..your BO-Bridge Operator, will have a little button called CLS...click on that, then choose BO of whatever nation you like...Although do not pick Japan at all, worst ships in the game untill lvl 89, US have the best CL's, KM all rounders, Brits, best armour, expensive, Best CA's and BB's at higher levels

Ok I'm US. How do I get onto the eu servers? I guess this means I have to start again? :(

Yes, but you're only level 11, doesn't take very long to get there.

t's up to you whether you want to play on the EU version or the US.

If you do go to the EU servers, there are 2: Bismarck, the original server which I'm on, and Hood, a new server where the majority of the players are English speaking.

Well since you're starting again, I'll give you some quick tips:

Always upgrade your sailors when ever the class upgrades come about, and just be careful to what you upgrade them to. For example, torpedo men are fine for lower levels, but are no good when you reach the battleship levels, so you'll have to level up some new sailors.

Just started on the Hood server, there are more english speakers and this time round I didn't screw up and spend all my money on an engine that's 1/10th as powerful as the standard one.

Thanks.

Yes I chose Hood server in the end. Currently level 3 ;)

**** me tried manual last night with my DD...get some decent hits all 4 turrets hitting is nice to see.

Can be quite a pain getting the angle right tho lol

Name - Septus
Currently lvl 13 controller...german
On EU - mainly Hood server

Going to have to sit an go thru tutorial again....I'm sure I missing something with leveling up my sailors and recruitment.
