I am currently using 2 of the NB-eLoop B12-2 (1300rpm) as the intake running @ 900RPM off a system fan header. When I first got these fans, they seemed to run perfect silent. Now, they seem to make some strange noises and the RPM seems to fluctuate at bit which you can hear.
In my build, I am going to be putting a 3 pin PCB board up front to wire the fans and LED's directly off. So I was thinking about doing away with the B12-2 (1300rpm) and going for the B12-1 (800rpm) instead.
Does anybody have any experience with the B12-1 fans? My logic is they should sound better as they will be running at a constant 12V at 800RPM, so the motor shouldn't feel strained at a lower voltage?
What other options could I go with, as the front fans are the main feature in my build (check out my build log to see my custom front panel).
