can anyone recommend some half decent ones which wont break the bank?

ive been told to check the cokin p series out but they seem to get some dodgy reviews due to colour cast.

ill be using them with a d7000 but im a novice so any help is greatly appreciated.

A step up from the Cokin ones would be the ones by hitech. Having bought their bundle of three filters, the .3 and .6 (1 and 2 stop) soft grads are very good. However the .9(3 stop) on does have a slight purple cast too it.

I have recently bought two....1 a variable one (Hama) that was pretty pants as when you upped it to the highest settings there was a distinct cross visible in the picture and a B+W 67mm 110 Single Coated +10 stophttp://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00485XSQ6/ref=oh_details_o04_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1. Have yet to try that one as only received it yesterday.

Both were not extortionately expensive from the rainforest. The fixed one was £66.00 and the variable one £28.00.

If you have an iPhone or an iPod Touch there is a very easy to use app called 'Long time'

This is a link to the app on the app store

https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/longtime-exposure-calculator/id362297743?mt=8

It includes ND filter strengths from 1 stop right up to 20 stop. Using a 20 stop filter and an indicated shutter speed without the ND filter attached of 30 seconds it helpfully tells you that the exposure time with the filter attached would be 1 year :)
