Well as my old motherboard has finally given up the ghost it's time to upgrade my PC at last.
It will mainly be used for gaming and I'm planning on getting VR in the future
Also I'm a total RGB nut and have Razor Chroma gear so would like something that plays nice with that if possible, I'm already trying to work out how to tie it to the RGB strips I've installed all over the room and don't want to make it anymore complicated.

I already have a decent SSD and PSU so I was thinking of this:
My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £1,408.13 (includes shipping: £13.20)

Just knocked that up over half a day so would be glad if someone could cast there eye over it for any improvements or better priced parts.

Many Thanks
Dan

Well, that's just all show, no bang setup with insane amount of money wasted on no good use/performance.
As in next-gen consoles making that look low end!

Just those Ridiculously Grossly Bloated overprice fans are literally paying for Thermaltake to get butt raped:
You could get freaking 20 good non-RGB fans for such price!

And for low end six core CPU £110 cheaper cooler would be enough.
That CPU itself is super bad bang per buck model with £50 of useless X letter in name.
3700X is only real step up from 3600 with its 8 cores/16 threads.

That motherboard is bad for the money by having same CPU VRM as in MSI's B450 boards.

Those Ridiculously Grossly Bloated price memories are pretty much in price territory of future proof 2x16GB kits.
Not future proof 2x8GB shouldn't cost more thanb little over £100 at most.

Also case is overpriced fashion toy for no expandabiltiy/upgradability for new/more connectors etc and very bad flexibility with only 15mm CPU cooler clearance.

And why I'm getting the feeling that PSU is some Chinese fireworks and SSD this:

Ok point taken, guess I got a little carried away. Will start from scratch and not worry so much about RGB. Given I can knock up 5m strips for less than £20 I can always add RGB afterwards.
Would appreciate any ideas for about the same money going for bang for buck rather than all show and no go.
Thanks

Given I can knock up 5m strips for less than £20 I can always add RGB afterwards.
And there are plenty of reasonably priced RGB modding stuff:

also there are less insanely priced rgb fans.
though those are still very expensive, because very good fan (with 10 year warranty) costs mighty expensive £6

Anyway Kolink Observatory would have plenty of RGB to distract from actual use:

while msi was hero in b450 being only one using good for price cpu vrms (power circuiry) they went to zero in x570 by using same old vmr in half the range.
if wanting 5+ years usage platform for upgrade to 12/16 core modern strong vrm would be better.
gigabyte did the best/most balanced design work in x570 with aorus elite having good and balanced feature set for the price.
again for staying in 8 core zen2 without upgrades cheaper board like b450 would be enough.
though amd officially canned its future support for improved zen3 architecture cpus.

anything much above £100 is salty for basic 2x8gb memory.
guaranteedly future proof 2x16gb costs £150.

Command interleaving of dual rank DIMMs also gives nice performance boost per clock in memory usage heavy games.

In graphics card you won't be getting any real future proofness no matter how much you pay and Nvidia has brand overprices to start with.
2070 Super isn't much faster than full £100 cheaper Radeon 5700 XT.

And next-gen consoles are anyway going to make current cards look bad and for staying in high end upgrade is needed in near future.

In CPU coolers availability is rather bad in most.
Though this would be very good for 3700X:
