NEC 20WGX2 - Can't get full res?

Hi all,

Had my screen for a few weeks now and I still love it to bits

Only thing is a can't play COD2 which is my fav online game atm at full 1680 x 1050 without it stutterings or a slight jerking when I'm running about or even first person on somone else?

You can see my rig spec in signiture and its not slow IMO - when I put it to 1024 x 768 it's smooth as butter again? I have the latest motherboard/graphic card/sound card drivers installed, BF2 & CSS play perfect at max res. I have tried the ano cable and the DVI but for the live of me I can't stop the stuttering, I have also deleted COD2 twice and reinstalled..!! I'm happy to play @ 1024 x 768 but why should I when I have this mint WS NEC badboy in front of me.?!?!

Has anyone had the same or similar issue, or offer any advice as I'm all out of idea's :'(

Did a fresh Install and still the same, which makes me think its hardware related?

I'm thinking that your x850xt will be struggling in CoD2 at the higher res.

If you look at your frame rates (FPS - frames per second) ingame then you'll probably see them dropping to around 20 or lower. This would correspond to noticable stuttering like you describe. There should be a command in most games that lets you see your ingame fps.

Yeah I need to run fraps and see whether it drops, gutted thb as COD2 is my fav game atm, well until BF2142 is released I think..!!

Shame as I thought my comp is at the higher end spec, but as we all know you are forever chasing your tail with regards to gaming PC specs..!!

Well I installed and ran fraps and I get from 40 - 90fps at native res ??? At that FPS it should be smooth surely?

I'm thinking of borrowing my mate 850 xt pe and seeing if a get the same issue!!

I'm running 6.6 CCC drivers ATM I have tried the driver heaven ones and still the same doh!!

Edit: Sorry I'm boardering on a graphics card post here I know, but this only started once I got my NEC 20" WS!
