Quite a newbie about technology.. Nec LCD2690WUXI or Dell 2408wfp or HP LP2475, any help appreciated..

Which would you choose to purchase.. Dont know much about LCD'S coming from a 20" crt...Looking for similar crt quality display for gaming, applications etc. thanks

personnaly i would choose none of those and go for this seeing as i have one

ive had 2 of the dells and they were faulty so wouldnt go there, dont know much about the hp but they are meant to be quite good.

Everything really , pushing more to the 26" nec ips screen, just spoke to nec support and they recomended it..

go with the ips nec then, there customer service is awesome aswell.

lol! NEC support recommended their own screen? Whatever next!

I have the 24" NEC and they are superb. Get NEC and you won't be disappointed.

What do you want to do becomes the question. They are all wide-gamut screens, and two of them are IPS. Depending on which version of the NEC you get it can come with the Spectraview kit which is a hardware calibrator tied to the screen which will help get accurate colours for doing colour critical work.

I can recommend the HP over the Dell as I've owned both and sent the Dell back within days, the HP is the 24" monitor I've had the longest (there's a few of us on here who've had multiple monitors and sent them back trying to find a decent one).

Thanks Guys I think I will go with the nec 26" ,yes the spectra view was a plus, Been offered it for £500 new so I think I will go with it..

are you sure that's including the SV? In europe NEC decided to only sell it bundled, so the hardware calibration is firmware locked on non SV models (in the states you can simply buy the SV system later as an addon).

Recieved my monitor today and it is the spectraview edition in bold letters on top right of monitor, for £500 I am chuffed.
