I would appreciate your help with this one

I'm looking to buy a new19" tft monitor and after searching a bit I conluded to the Nec 90GX2. However I've seen that Nec released an improved version of it, the 90GX2pro with slightly better characteristics.

From what i see though the pro version is nowhere to be found...Do you know if overclockers is going to have that soon? And in your opinion does it worth the wait when compared to the 90GX2?

P.S. I'm willing to spend 250pounds max. If you have to suggest a better 19" (not interested in widescreen) please do! It will be mainly used for gaming and movies.

Cheers

i doubt there will be much real difference in practice between the 90GX2 and 90GX2 Pro tbh. Probably a good case of improving things on paper, with no noticeable change in real performance. The Viewsonic VX922 is a very good choice in the 19" gamers market, arguably the fastest screen out there right now.

Yes I've heard that the viewsonic is a very fast monitor however from some reviews i've read its limited only to that, not the best in terms of picture quality, thats why i tend towards the Nec.

Do you know if overclockers is about to bring the pro version, and could you please tell me whether this monitor (90gx2 and the pro version) comes with a dvi cable? In case they dont what kind of dvi cable should I buy? My videocard has a DVI-I output.

Sorry for all these questions but its gonna be my first lcd screen and i have no previous experience with dvi cables etc..

well the NEC does have a glossy screen which can help bring the image to life. The VX922 is very good though, i wouldn't overlook it personally. Not sure when / if OcUK will get the stock of the "Pro" version, i'm pretty sure it will come with a DVI cable, the 20WGX2 does :)
