Nec firmware

I need to re-flash my NEC DVD RW ND 4571A, but I cant find the firmware, the Nec site has the model before.

Is 4517 correct? Can't find that drive but can find 4571 for which the latest firmware is 1.02

yes your having the same problems as me, its definatley a 4571A ATA Device.

So it is a 4571 and not a 4517 as in your original post, your drive appears to be at the latest firmware release anyway.

I need to reflash it as its stopped reading DVD

Here'a a link to the firmware http://www.cdrinfo.com/Sections/Firmware/SingleModel.aspx?DriveId=1378 but if it's an old drive then maybe it's just had it.
