Well it arrived today...... Its got a dead pixel..... One near the middle of the screen a little unhappy as i just paid 400 quid for it aswell. Anything i can do ?

All suggestions welcome, what would ocuk do as i purchased off them or should i send back under the 7 day distance sales thing???

Many thanks

OMG I used to live in Washington (for many many years)
But to answer your question. I thought up to 4 dead pixels was tolorated by most manufacturers. So as annoying as it is doubt you can do anything (I have 1 to) but others may know better

I'd be gutted tbh. Send it back to wherever it came under the distance selling act. You have 7 days cooling off period, if you ordered from internet or over phone. Notify them by letter or fax and say that you're sending it back. You can legally send it back and not have to give a reason. You have to pay for courier delivery back to supplier unfortunately.

just to clarify that ... you have to let supplier know within 7 days after arrival that you intend to send it back.

best to do it ASAP if you're not happy tbh.

My real problem is that if i send it back to ocuk i can only order anotherone from ocuk. crooked or what. chance of getting another dead pixel(s) probably the same.

I dunno maybe chalk it up to experience and pay the extra 200 quid for a plasma next ime round. lol....

anyone wanna buy a new monitor 399 quid one careful owner :D.

I believe NEC has a zero dead pixel policy, and 3-4 "subdead" pixels. Not quite sure though, you could try to check it out ;)

Check this out, just found it: http://www.necdisplay.com/protectyourimage/quality.htm

All NEC Display Solutions monitors have a zero whole pixel defect policy and adhere to the ISO 13406-2 standard. Any module that has three adjacent sub-pixels (whole pixel) in any order is considered non-ISO 13406-2 and defective and will not be used in our products.

what are the chances of getting another one with the same problem? I've heard of dead spots but tbh of the thousands i see at work i never seen a dead spot lol... dell anyone.
