The NEC MultiSync 24WMGX3 Professional Gaming 24" Widescreen LCD Monitor is on special this week at £399.99 and I’m seriously thinking of upgrading my 22” (Samsung 226 BW).

I’m happy with the picture quality of my Samsung, but would like a larger 1080p screen with better viewing angles/adjustable stand and 1:1 pixel mapping.

I read that different Panel Types such as TN/IPS/AMVA etc have an impact on quality. I’m lacking in knowledge here, so I hope you guys can help me avoid getting lumbered with an inferior type.

Is the NEC the best option in the £300-£400 price range?

My main uses would be watching movies, PC gaming (with Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 4870 1GB via HDMI), Xbox 360 (via component) and 2nd PC vid DVI

The NEC seems to be a good option, but should I be considering another screen? Maybe a Dell or something else?

A couple of reviews of the NEC 24WMGX3 can be found Here and Here

Another monitor that is also very good is the HP LP2475w, reviews found Here and Here

I have the 24WMGX3 at the moment and it certainly is a very nice monitor, have also had a LP2475w, which I also thought very good, as regards which one is "better"....that would be hard to answer...however, I think you would be really happy with either of these monitors.

I have not used a Dell 2408WFP, but the latest revision is supposed to be pretty good...reviews found Here and Here...

Literally just ordered the NEC 24WMGX3 cause it was in the special this week. Hope it's as good as the reviews say!

I just ordered one of these because of the special 'this week only' offer. Im still using an ancient 17" LG CRT.
Ive been holding off forever for the perfect 24' but it was just not going to happen. Liked the Hazro but not the 'issues' that come with it, also the HP sounded perfect but suffered from the pink tint etc etc.

Lets hope this one turns out to be a good one :)

I've been thinking about getting the NEC 24WMGX3 because I'm currently running my Xbox 360 through an old Hyundai Q17+, and as such I'm not exactly getting the full HD experience! However, I'd also like to connect my PC to the same monitor; trouble is it's an ancient AMD 3400+ with a XFX 6800GT graphics card.

Does anybody know if the 6800GT would be able to output to the monitor's native resolution of 1920x1200?
