I am planning on purchasing this monitor with the intention on mostly gaming plus watching movies from time to time. Will it be any good, and how will I get on with games like FEAR which doesn't support the native res?

On most games you can modify it's files so that it supports any resolution you want. You just have to search on how to do it.

i'm looking at the same monitor too, either this or the viewsonic vx2025 whenever it's released...

mainly for games and movies for me too, as long as it's reasonable in desktop mode :P

someone at OCUK got a release date for this? gibbo? :)

I will have had this monitor for a week tomorrow, I absolutely love it.

Gaming is amazing and strangely my frame rate didn't seem to drop much using the monitors native res.

Scaling on this monitor is great too, borders if you want to contain the original aspect ratio and you can also do 1:1 pixel mapping. This is eventually what sold this monitor to me.

Great monitor and well worth the extra cash over the other 20" monitors available. :)

Would an ATi X1900 XT-X or GeForce 7900 GTX be enough to power this monitor in games at it's native resolution using high detail settings or would it need an SLi setup?

I hope so - I am planning on getting this monitor in about 6 weeks and was wondering if my set up would be enough to run this years games (Eldar Scrolls:Oblivion and Ghost recon 3, etc) at a decent res on this monitor.

My spec is:

AMD Athlon 3800 64bit processor (at stock)
XFX 6800GT 256 DDR3
2Gb 333Mhz Corsair Ram (single channel)
ASRock 939 Dual SATA2 Mother board
Creative Audigy 2 sound card
200Gb Seagate PATA drive

Can anyone let me know on this?

Recently, I have noticed that many reviewing web sites have started to cover also the widescreen gaming benchmarks. Maybe this is the best place for you to look for the answers.
