Hi all,

I am in need of two new PSU's.

The specs are;
(PSU 1)
E5200
4GB Ram
8400GS

(PSU 2)
Q6700 (Now a Q8400)
4GB Ram
4850x2
Floppy Drive

They both need the essential connectors to futureproof.

Any ideas?

The cheaper the better really if they'll do the job.

Interesting :d

Is this any good for any? "Tagan BZ-500 Modular PSU" Someone is selling second hand, £45.

The corsair TX is a little expensive at £70, will the ModXstream 600W be enough to power an Q6700.
And a 400W to power an E5200, i was thinking 500W's?

PC 1 will draw no more than 150-170w (at the wall) fully loaded so a quality 300w would do the job. As you want a bit of future proofing as well this one.

PC2 is quite a bit more power hungry so this.

Personally i would'nt touch a OCZ with a bargepole.

In my main rig I 'only' have a Coolermaster 380W to run Core2 Duo E6600 at standard 2.4Ghz, 2gb 800Mhz ram, 1 each case and CPU fan, 2x DVD drives, 3x SATA2 hard drives, 512mb HD4850 and a dual-tuner PCI TV card. It's quiet (some say very, but I want more), has never missed a beat whatever I do, I even overclocked to 2.7Ghz and 902Mhz ram for a while but I'm keener on silence than on an extra few percent of power over what I already don't need most of the time, so a 500W for an E5200 Pentium is more than enough.

And for my future Core2 Quad Q9550S, 4gb 1333Mhz ram, 1gb HD4850 passive, BluRay drive, 1TB hard, dual-tuner PCI-E TV card and 4 fans (3 case and a cpu) I originally bought a Corsair 520TX (they were out of stock of the 600W at the time), but after I used it to fix my brother's pc I'm going to buy a 600W this time, not that the rig will need it.
