I'm having problems with installing apps on win7 x64 and I can't find a solution. The few apps that don't install correctly are not important for my everyday day use but very important for my video editing.
Still, I need a clean C: drive for just video/photo/music. I can't install on a D: or other drive because some apps need a C: destination to work.

Is it possible to have two C: drives for a dual win7 x64 boot?

I'm on an i7 930 machine.

If you install on a second hard drive without the other plugged in, you can then choose the boot order from the BIOS on the motherboard. It will come up with an option at bootup, select the correct drive, et viola!

What apps need the c drive for installation?
Or is it for their scratch file and working area?

If it is, then install the old xp first on C, then do the dual boot on d or whereever instead

I don't understand, what do you mean by two C:\ drives? No matter which OS you are in, the partition it is installed on will be C:. The names are given by the OS, regardless of what other OS you have.

Or have I missed something?

-So I remove the current C drive temporarily and install win7 on the new C drive as usual. Will it mess the bios for my previous setup?

Well... what if I try this:
I install win7 on the new drive while the other is unplugged and go through the whole process
-then I plug the first drive together with the second one
-when I boot up, will there be an option for which one I want to boot?

I'm kind of clueless, I built my current i7 from scratch but that was't that hard;)

I didn't know that. So, if I have two OS's(ssss?) which ever I boot in to will automatically be assigned to C: right?

Right now I'm trying to install a second OS on a separate HDD so that I have two HDDs each with its own OS.
I simply want to boot into one drive for everyday use and boot into the other strictly for video/photo/audio editing.
