So I'm getting a 980Ti and I feel like playing at 1080p is a severe mis-use of the card. However, with my current BenQ XL2411 I can play at 120Hz and after playing at 120Hz I can't go back to 60Hz. I've had to for the time being as I have no GPU in my system until the 980Ti turns up.

What monitors will let me play at 1440p with 120Hz?

I've got a budget of probably around £350..

No monitors that you can buy for that much. Really, the only choices you have is either the ROG Swift or the Acer IPS variant, which are 600 & 700. Alternatively the Asus freesync one is also gonna be 144hz 1440p IPS, for 500 (not available yet). Or the Acer freesync 1440p 144hz is around 430.

All in all, I'd save up. But I would say, 1440p isn't that big of a leap from 1080p imo, I was underwhelmed by it.

Might just wait until next year then. Single card GPUs that will comfortably handle 4k with decent FPS and hopefully prices for what I'm after would have come down on the monitor side by then.
