Need a 17" laptop with a decent screen

Planning on getting a new laptop for my girlfriend this christmas as hers is on its way out.

Only real criteria is that it has to have a decent screen like her current one. dedicated GFX etc is not a requirement.

Almost all 17" laptops seem to have a crappy 1600 x 900 resolution. The only decent ones I've found so far (1920 x 1080) are the Dell Inspiron 17 7000 series and HP Envy 17 but these are sort of 700 - 800 depending on spec, the most basic of which still has nvidia graphics, touch screen etc.

Does anyone know of any models with a decent screen but maybe economising in other areas?
 
Yeah I have Dell Inspiron 17 7000 series bought last year for £779 after discount, it was really very nice very thin laptop with metal body, backlight keyboard, Nvidia GPU and 1920x1080 touchscreen. :D

I been looked into HP Envy 17, the body is made full of plastics and I avoided it.

So it is out of your price range, wonder what your budget?
