If you're overclocking, get an Opteron instead

oh spending other people's money! Similar to mine, IMO the faster AMD's are overpriced, get a mastercard later. Loads of storage :) 24"+ expensive also. Get M-Audio instead of Create Soundcard, and some home theatre seperate speakers.

Will a single card be able to play with everything maxed on such a large monitor?

Sure will ;)

The 7900 GTX is a powerful card. I have no doubt it cant handle a 2405FPW at max settings. With the CPU power and tight 2GB memory timmings behind it too, it will be good enough.

Now I would only got with another 7900 GTX card If I could get a Dell 3007FPW in there ;):D

That's probably a too difficult question to answer, but "best" make would be (apart from picture quality as that's subjective) as you have several panel types plus the processing involved in the board.

3 year warranty with 24 hour replacement
0 dead/lit pixel or sub pixel policy
Good build quality. Not tacky. Good connecitivity and included cables.

The big Dell looks ok (size and resolution) however it only has one input, two is useful because I have two computers into one monitor. Generally though with your budget looking at best and near top of the range components, but pay attention to price/performance- ie biggest hard drive is not good value for money, it works and cheaper to buy two smaller hard drives instead of once (divide price per GB) having two 200GB is usually better than having one 400GB.

A competitor is offering Quad Sli for £999+Vat and includes an Asus mobo, Akasa Eclipse case and a Tagen 900W Psu, you still got ~£1300 left to spend for the rest of the setup! :o

Custom PC Mag did a comparisson of the lattest graphics cards and none could handle Quake4 maxed out (4x AA, 8x AF) 1600x1200. The 7900GTX was seeing frame rates as low as 17 FPS...

I think for such a high resolution monitor, SLI/X-Fire is pretty much required.
