hello peeps,
looking for a card to replace my 2GB 6950 (with shaders unlocked) Asus DirectCU2 with 4670k+8GB, not overclocked at the moment (no need as gpu is my bottleneck)
I mostly play BF3 and will be getting BF4.
Using 1920x1080 at the moment, not planning on getting anything higher.
What would be the best option for me? 680? 770? Something else?
cheers

Would suggest the HIS 7950 personally its probably better price to performance ratio if your not biased towards Nvidia also with most newer games being developed for AMD (consoles etc having AMD hardware) it may be more worthwhile, you need 3gb card for the recommended specs i believe and it can easily be clocked higher just by using the AMD slider to 7970 levels or higher.

I'm in pretty much the same boat as you and i'd suggest waiting until we have some benchmarks on the new AMD cards.

Not long now really (Mid-End of Oct) before they are released, in the meantime, check out the Numerous threads in here for some more info on the cards.

7950 por f you want to spend a wee bit more 7970

Bought the asus 7970 for £225 the other day to replace my 6970 impressive but of kit

If you get the 7950 overclocked to 7970 levels which is very easy to do the difference for that extra 40-50 quid is like 5% at most.
