Need a better router

Currently have a Netgear DG834G and well the wireless performance is rubbish, especially considering I live in a small flat. Not really sure what is good out there and what to get. Budget is around £40, can anyone please recommend a good router?

If it helps am on BT line and broadband provider is carphone warehouse.

It might be worth getting a dedicated access point, if the budget is £40.

Define "the wireless performance is rubbish".. Have you tried changing the wireless channel?

^ Yes tried all of that over the last few years, the signal is just poop, and goes up and down so much, and you barely get any signal in some rooms.

Ordered a TP-LINK TD-W8970 hopefully it will provide better range.

Have you tried a different wireless adapter on the PC?
