Need A Big Case

Hi everyone,

I've currently got a thermaltake tsunami dream and I'm fed up with drawing blood every once in a while and the general lack of space i.e. nowhere to shove excess psu cables, the absence of a gap between the front of my psu and the back of my dvd burners, and the most annoying is how my mobo and gfx card always seem to get in the way of hard drive access. Oh, and I ditched the useless screw pci securers ages ago, as one of my cards wouldn't fit past it.

In short, I need a big case, the CM stackers look a good range, and the akasa eclipse. As for water cooling, is there any point buying a case that already has it when I plan to implement it anyway? I mean, it's ok if he pre-installed kit i good quality, but i wouldn't want to pay extra for something that i'd be replacing pretty soon after.

Thanks

when I opened up an eclipse I bought from france I found a whole family inside it who were trying to claim asylum in this country... ok that might not be true, but removable motherboard tray, eATX design, loads of PSU space... it's HUGE inside!

how good are they at cooling?

well, it's possible to fit about 32 thousand 120mm fans... (slight exaggeration there...)

Also, may want to try a mountain mods ufo, aor lian li 343, both (and the above) are great for water cooling, especially if you want 2 loops :)

The Thermaltake has great multiple radiator potential too as far as I can see. I'll have a look at those two too I think. tbh I've never realised before actually how much of a space saver low depth would be for me! I also love the fact both side doors open towards the front.

Edit: Love the squareness of mountain mods ufo series too. And that lian li case is insanity personified. 18 5.25" bays, who would need 18 simultaneously? Does anyone on here have the lian li case, or for that matter the mountain mods or thermaltake mozart?

The PC343B is a cracker of a case, just built a new rig in one. It's big but not overpowering - about an 18" cube so think two decent mid towers next to each other. I've gone with air cooling so the PC is on the left and all the drives are on the right which gives me a clean airflow over the hot stuff and keeps the drives neat and tidy out of the way.

The only problem is the cost, the case itself is about £220 but that's all you get. If you want the front fan mounts, the 4 into 3 HDD mounts, the rear HDD mounts or the top fan plate they're all extra. I've probably got about another £120 or so of bits on it and I still need a few more mounts once I find somewhere that has them in stock.

Oh and 18 drives? That's for wusses, if you load it up you can get 30 HDDs in there without even blinking.

Webbo has one, look at post 438 on the new cases gallery:

I think he's done a really good job on this, definately one of the best mm ufo's i've seen.

Not a problem... i find a lot of cases that have blue led's and cathodes everywhere normally look, well, tacky, but i really works in your case..

Is that a reservoir top right of the case?

As for the 343, I don't really need that many drives, especially now that 500GB drives are getting good £/GB, and I also don't need to spend £>400 on a case. I think that's one for the future maybe.

So it's now between the mozart and the ufo.
Geez, there' loads of different ufo cases too, and they're quite expensive too, well atleast they come with the standard bits I suppose, plus they're pretty. D'oh.

Yes, in that shot there is one in the drivebay (dual 5 1/2 ) and one internal but I moved them both into the drive bays now.

cant find any reviews, have managed to see a picture, but lian-li's website doesnt appear to have it. Doh.
