I'm going to upgrade to Sandy Bridge in the next month or so.

Would a Corsair HX 620 be good enough to power the following:

i5 2500k @ 4.6Ghz
2 Sapphire 5850 xtreme's in crossfire
Crucial M4 64 SSD
Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB
2 DVD writers.

Yes or no?

two middling graphics cards like the 5850 will outperform any single graphics card (that isnt a dual processor on one card).

however, the flipside of the argument is the upgrade path is almost non existant, and when you do want to sell the cards they will be almost worthless (because when you want to sell them, they will only be good enough in SLI/crossfire)

probably not imo and have you considered 1good graphics card rarther than 2 middle class something like YOUR BASKET
1 x XFX ATI Radeon 6950 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £203.99
Total : £214.79 (includes shipping : £9.00).

I have already got the 5850's. Got them when they were on offer here for 99 notes.

I know they beat single cards over twice the price and that is why i bought them.

I was wondering if my PSU will cope or do i need something better?

also you need a better power supply and can often have driver/game issues :(

personally, i dont even bother with dual gfx, it isnt worth the hassle

the hx620 will power two HD5850. You just need two molex to PCIE adapters. Unless it comes with 4 PCIE, but I don't think so (mine doesn't at least). In any case, you can recoup some money off that HX620. Bit of a hassle though.
