As you can see by my spec below I have a reasonable Desktop - trouble is I have to share it with wife who for some unknown reason press's wrong keys and mess's it up - After a big row the other night we both agree we need a Laptop/Tablet - After doing a load of googling my budget got higher and higher on Laptops - So my question is what do I really need.
All I want is something wife or myself can switch on - open Firefox or Thunderbird for email - search google for gardening gloves for her and expensive watches for me - I need to be able to pay for them online via Paypal or bank card - I need to look on OCUK or other forums and I need it to be reasonably quick - I don't want to sit there waiting for pages to load .
This Laptop/Tablet will be run on WiFi through my Solwise homeplug 200 - At moment the homeplug runs my Pure Evoke Flow internet radio with no problems. It is also Ethernet corded to TV and Freesat box and get no problems with iPlayer
Budget is around £400 but less if possible - but if something is so far superior to all around then willing to go over budget.
I would like if possible for a Ethernet connection and USB -external plug in DVD isn't required but might be handy one day.
Laptops/Tablets are something I have never thought of buying and so when looking it soon became obvious it's a minefield - one laptop was one Celeron - I had that years ago on a Packard Bell.
So any advise would be helpful at moment.
Thanks
Dave
