Need a bit of help, Asrock extreme4

Am trying to make a -

Asus DRW-1612BL 16x16 DVD±RW Dual Layer Lightscribe ReWriter (Black) - Retail

Work in my extreme4 mobo, put it together yesterday with a mate and was working fine but now I try and Install OS and I cant see the CD drive as a boot option. Have a HDD cable coming out of the drive but cant see where to plug it in? am confused, thanks to anyone that can help me. Also have a SSD and 2 other drives, it can find the ssd but only 1 of the others. thanks again

Is this cable coming out of this drive a big fat ribbon cable(IDE)?

You need a SATA DVD drive

wont work with this one? Im surprised my mate didnt spot that, Id better get down pc world if I want it working today then, thank you

Does it have to be pluged into a specific sata port?

Any port, but the ASROCK has two potrs at the very top controlled by a third party chip "Marvell" these offer worse performance than the native intel ports (they are referred to as G_SATA or something like that in the manual?).

Also if you are using a SSD its wise to set the SATA controller to AHCI from IDE in the BIOS before installation.
