need a bit of help please

ok this is my first time overclocking and i thought it went quite succsessful. so i thought i would run prime95 and when i do my pc shuts down as soon as i click start i havent had a blue screen.this is the infomation from cpu-z

core voltage-1.452v
ccore speed- 4025mhz
multiplyer-17
bus speed-236.8mhz

and my cpu is a amd phenom II x4 955 at 3.2mhz

try going back to stock and work your way up abit at a time.
sounds like you just put some settings in that worked for some one else and hoped for the best.
Sorry cant be more helpfull as know nothing about amd chips.

ive got it at 3.7 stable at the moment. am i correct if i say that not all cpu's react the same way to overclocking?
 
Completely right Jay. Chips are different to each other and things like airflow, ambient temps, RAM, fsb, motherboard, etc all come in to make a difference. Like Gazzer said you should just try and do a little bit at a time and the most important thing is to take you time! It's not a rush and you don't want to knacker your pc bits over rushing in head first before you understand all the ins and outs of it.
 
All overclocking settings you see should only be taken as Guide lines only.
Find out the safe limits for voltages and temps first off.
set your personal limits and work your way to them in a safe maner.
