Need a bit of help

Hey i have a 5770 and im planning yo upgrade for BF3.
I was looking at the 5870 & 6870.

Basically i read the 6870 is a clone of the 5870. So what would be better to get? Or would nVidia be better for around the same price?

Don't let the higher numbers confuse you.

The HD 5870 offers better performance than a HD 6870. See here.

The HD 6870 sits between the HD 5850 and HD 5870 in the performance stakes but uses around the same amount of power as a HD 5850 so it's slighly more efficient.

Ok thanks... OCUK dont seem to sell 5870's... What would the nVidia equivalent be?

best thing is to say what your approx budget is, then people can tell you your best options at that price range

Around £140ish. Planning to buy second hand from MM

The closest equivalent would be a GTX 560. Similar price and performance to a HD 6870.

The next step up would be a GTX 560Ti.

ah ok well second hand pricing i not certain, i guess at around 140 aim for a second hand gtx 560 ti or 6950

also (dont use this as %100 perfect way to compare cards but it is a decent way to get an idea where cards stand against each other
