Transmit through old cottage walls, into a garage on the same floor level. At present we've got a bt modem/router,this runs to a wifi router in the garage via cat5. The connection on the main modem/router drops.

Was thinking linksys or asus.. Budget up to £200

Needs to be bt adsl compatible as its replacing an old, bt modem/router.

If the connection drops sounds like a faulty router I'd be ringing BT to try and bag a replacement for free which should be easy if it's really old and your willing to sign a 12 month deal.

Please bear in mind with wireless that it's the Tx power and Rx sensitivity of the weakest radio that is the important factor. Shoving a huge AP with a stupid amount of gain the other side of a thick stone wall is unlikely to help an iPad work in the garage.

Im in the same boat looking for a BT compatible modem/router so didnt want to open a new thread.

I'm not having signal issues but my Netgear DGN2200 N300 seems to be very very slow I fished out my home hub 3 from the loft which is a lot faster but it keeps dropping in and out.

I got a home hub 5 from BT a while ago but It had problems connecting with airplay and it was pretty slow so i sent it back.

Can anyone recommend me a router?

Thanks
Scott
